EMPLOYEE RIGHTS TO UNION REPERSENTATION

Employees have the right to Union Representation when:

He/She is subject to an investigatory interview. An investigatory interview happens when a supervisor or other person from management questions an employee to obtain information that could be used as a basis for discipline, or asks an employee to defend their actions AND
He/She has a reasonable belief that discipline or other adverse consequences may result from what he/she says in the interview.

THE EMPLOYEE MUST ASK FOR UNION REPRESENTATION!

Once the request is made:

The supervisor must grant the request and delay questioning until a Union Representative arrives and has a chance to consult with the employee in private OR:

Deny the request and end the interview immediately OR:

Give the employee the choice of:

Having the interview without Union Representation

Ending the interview

AS A UNION MEMBER YOU HAVE THESE RIGHTS.  BE SURE TO USE THEM!
